The Soviet unmanned space station Luna 17 soft-landed on the Moon in the Sea of Rains on November 17, 1970, and delivered Lunokhod 1 self-propelled vehicle on the lunar surface. The picture is made by Lunokhod 1 onboard telephotometer camera. Seen in the picture: a panoramic view of the lunar surface, the gangway for Lunokhod 1 in unfolded position, a whip antenna of Lunokhod 1, a part of Luna 17 station's landing platform.
