Aurora is a Russian protected cruiser of the 1st rank. It was floated out in 1900 and took part in the Battle of Tsushima. Aurora became internationally renowned for making a false shot symbolising the start of the 1917 October Revolution. During the Great Patriotic War, the ship took part in defending Leningrad. After the war finished, it continued to function as a training accomodation ship for the Russian fleet and is now part of Russia's cultural heritage.
