

Andrei Belozersky, Soviet biologist, biochemist, one of the founders of molecular biology in the USSR, academician at the USSR Academy of Sciences, near the model of a DNA molecule in his study at the Department of Biochemistry of Plants at Lomonosov Moscow State University. DNA molecules are responsible for storage, data transmission from generation to generation and genetic development and functioning of living organisms. The molecules are often called the building blocks of life.
