Great Patriotic War veteran Mikhail Chernyshov at his home in the town of Ordynka in the Novosibirsk Region. During the war, he served with an air force regiment that ferried US bombers to the USSR under the Lend Lease Act. After the war, he served with the Soviet Air Force on the Kamchatka Peninsula and was discharged in 1952.
