Mourners during the funeral of Nicholas II and his family in the Royal sepulcher at Sts. Peter and Paul's Cathedral in St. Petersburg. The last Russian Emperor, the Royal family and their courtiers met martyr death by the Bolshevik firing squad in 1918. Their remains were recovered and re-interred after their canonization in 1998.
