

The Dvortsovy (Palace) Bridge, in St. Petersburg's heart, continues Palace Lane and Pushkin Square. It owes its name to the Winter Palace close by--Imperial residence and one of the foremost 18th century masterpieces of Russian architecture. The bridge was designed by engineer Pshenitsky, who also supervised its construction, in 1912-16
