On June 30, Azerbaijani police raided the office of Russia's state-run Sputnik news agency, which has reportedly continued to operate despite a ban issued in February. Two Russian journalists Igor Kartavykh, head of the editorial board of Sputnik Azerbaijan, and editor-in-chief Yevgeny Belousov had been detained by Azerbaijani security forces in Baku.
