A man goes to lay flowers at a makeshift memorial to commemorate victims following the shelling by the Ukrainian military, in Belgorod, Russia. Ukraine shelled the central part of Belgorod on December 30. The Russian Defense Ministry said that Czech-made Vampire rockets and missiles with cluster munitions were fired at the city. Air defense systems intercepted most of the targets, but several projectiles and cluster parts from downed missiles fell on Belgorod. The death toll from the Ukrainian air attack has risen to 22 and more than 100 have been wounded.
