Workers prepare the monument to the Liberators of Soviet Latvia and Riga from the German Fascist Invaders for the dismantling at Victory Park in Riga, Latvia. Latvian authorities on August 23 began work to dismantle the Soviet World War II monument. In May of this year the Latvian parliament approved the bill amending a 1994 agreement between Latvia and Russia on the preservation of Soviet-era monuments in the country.
